DVD Review

3:10 To Yuma:

Mostly uninteresting , save Ben Foster's performance as the unhinged (gay?) follower of Russell Crowe. Disappointing Western that shouldn't have been...

Eastern Promises:

Cronenberg is still a genius. And he found his new niche. Brilliant gross-out drama!

For a second there, I thought I was the only one that was thinking that about Ben Foster. Have you read this?

C'mon, Clyde Squid. Are you sure you just didn't like Eastern Promises because you got to see Viggo's wang? (I haven't seen the movie, but that particular scene got a lot of publicity.)

Yet another disappointing "Best Western since Unforgiven" I suppose. I kind of wish people would drop that as a marketing angle. Honestly, how many westerns since Unforgiven have been any damn good at all? I mean, once you take away Val Kilmer's performance in Tombstone what have you got left, besides Robert Duvall's "portly horseman" phase?
